Heathrow is 'worst for queuing'
Mar 14, 2009Heathrow is the worst international airport for passport queues and baggage problems, a survey has suggested.
However the airport was rated as second best for security, coming only behind New York's JFK Airport. It won the top spot among UK airports.
BAA said £1bn was now being spent to improve all baggage services at Heathrow.
The survey for the WAYN social networking site interviewed more than 2,250 travellers from across the globe.
Travellers said Heathrow had the longest waits for baggage, ahead of New York and Los Angeles.
Heathrow was ahead of the same two airports in the list for the major international airport most likely to damage luggage.
BAA added that security queues were at a record low and said that, only a few weeks ago, British Airways had achieved its best ever baggage and punctuality figures.
